This is something I really cannot believe has not happened already. I thought when Kevin McClatchy stepped aside that the team would like for a change like this, but I guess better late than never.
For those that have not read it, the Pirates are going to have a new logo in 2014, replacing the current Pirate head with the "crossbats". I would not mind a return to the past with this logo, but likely it will be something new.
I kind of like the overall idea with this one from @PittScriptLogo.
Either way, thanks Pirates for letting us know early so I don't waste money on merchandise with the old logo. I'll either stick to the P or nothing.

I am of the opinion that they should just bag the pirate altogether and go strictly with the well known P.
