Today things start up again for the Pirates as the team starts to report to Bradenton. I don't know what to think as we embark on another season of Pirates baseball. Of course there is the optimism that accompanies any new season. The outlook for the club is rosy this time of year.
At the same time though, as I have been thinking about it, I almost don't know what there is to really get excited about. Sure this team is the best hope to end the streak really since the streak began. You look around and there is legitimate major league players all over, but are they enough. Is it enough to get excited about? I don't know.
Many could guess due to lack of posts on the blog that I am a little jaded. There is truth to that, but also life has caught up with me as well pulling me in other directions. A prevailing theme then this year is guarded optimism and a focus more on important things.
Today though the most important thing is that there are players running around in Bradenton prepping for this season. Anytime baseball is being played, especially the start of baseball, that is something rather important to talk about.
Happy Pitchers and Catchers then everyone.
